Request: ability to close individual comments manually

Would it be possible to add a manual comment closer function available on a node-by-node basis? On a community site, often the need to close comments arises only in a single discussion thread that gets out of hand, and being able to shut down just that one node's commenting would be a fabulous feature. Maybe others would find this useful, too.
