I'm looking for a module or code snippet that could check a table showing the hours a business was open each day of the week and then display a message showing "now open" or "opens at x hour on y day."

Have searched forums and module listings with no success.

Any suggestions?

The queries would depend on the table structure, of course, but lets say you had a simple table called hoursofop with three columns (dayofweek, opentime, closetime) and seven rows (one for each day of the week)

$dayofweek =  date("l",time());
$currenttime =  strtotime(date("G:i",time()));

$results =  db_fetch_array(db_query("SELECT opentime, closetime FROM hoursofop where dayofweek = '" . $dayofweek . "'"));

$opentime = strtotime($results['opentime']);
$closetime = strtotime($results['closetime']);

if (($currenttime >= $opentime) && ($currenttime <= $closetime)) {
        echo "Store's open!";
        } else {
        echo "Sorry, we're closed.";
        }

Don't know if there's a module out there that would do it.

I'm in the process of trying to figure this out now too, but to throw a curveball into the equation, what would one do if there were multiple opening and closing times each day for a particular business, like some restaurants are open just for lunch hours and then close and then are open again for dinner hours. Otherwise your example would have helped me greatly, not sure how to pull it off.
