Wordpress has this really nifty syndication integration in facebook so that when you post something to your Wordpress blog it becomes a part of your "Mini-feed" that describes your activity and automatically creates a link to that post.

A lot of people don't use feed readers at all. This is a totally non-geeky application of using feeds.

Anybody have a clue as to what it would take to get such a thing for Drupal?

Is that the one that only works with wordpress blogs hosted at Wordpress.com or is there another one out now? I think it uses wordpress.com integration so it wouldn't be possible to incorporate that into Drupal until they open up the API. Sadly Facebook makes it difficult to put generic RSS streams in your profile.

I didn't look into the details... but the one friend I know who uses it -- her blog is hosted at wordpress.com, so that fits with what you wrote. Now, I'm less impressed.

It does seem like the facebook folks are cautious about links that take people off site. Maybe they'll open up.

I'm following two discussions about this at http://groups.drupal.org/node/5389#comment-15789 and http://drupal.org/node/161869

On a related note, Facebook has opened user news feeds as RSS feeds, which can be pulled into your Drupal site with the Facebook Status module.
