A message for all potential Civicrm users: new release (1.8 Beta) has an auto install for Drupal (see http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence//x/wzg). For someone who has struggled to get Civic installed on a local Drupal install (XAMPP) this is a major blessing and simplifies the install markedly. The only issue for XAMPP users is that by default MySql doesn't have InnoDB enmabled which is a dependency for Civic. A workaround can be found here http://www.mydigitallife.info/2006/10/21/enable-mysql-innodb-storage-eng...
After working through the modifications needed (simple) the install went without a hitch. Highly recommended.

but, is civiccrm compatible with 4.7?
as far as I know
yes it is compatible 4.7 (not with the auto-installer).
