Issue Summary
great tool!
but how about restricting the downloads to a certain number of downloads per specified user?

That'd make a neat other module I think.
#2
for that we need a column of allowed numbers per user role and a column of used downloads per file and per user.
#3
Would love to see this built. I see it on TechCrunch all of the time; "limited to n downloads using this code" and if the # of DL's is exceed the user gets a "downloads for this code have been exceeded" message.

I could really do with this on my Drupal site. Some users login and download everything in one go. I'd like to be able to limit them to perhaps n downloads per hour / day....
I'd require this for D6 though.
I'd be happy to involved in testing too.

I'm looking for something like this also. It would be a great bandwidth control mechanism. Providing direct downloads without any sort of limitation is going to burn a hole in your pocket like greased lightning.
KAPOW O_O
You won't even know what hit you.
Although it does seem like it would be a separate project that depended on this module rather than being within it... However it happens isn't so important though. As long as it did as some point, I'd be happy.

closing due to new maintainer and an unsupported version. A new 6.x-2.x version is forthcoming, please open new issues against that version when available if necessary. However, this would definitely be for another module.
