Attachment type is not being set because in file smtp.mail.inc on line 415 there is a typeo. You have $filetype instead of $file_type. Fixing this allowed Attachments to flow correctly to Amazon SES. Before this would provide an error from Amazon stating "Missing Start Boundary".

Thanks, that was already fixed here #1816092: Undefined variable $filetype. Wrong variable name used in SmtpMailSystem::mail(). Should be $file_type marking as duplicated.
