I have been trying to make dropdown menu options on my top menu bar but doesn't work ?

I thought if you select Expand and add option under it it would make a dropdown menu option ?

I did find a module called nice menus but it wasn't nice but ugly.

This module is not any better but worse and still ugly and too complex.

All I want to do it alter the current menu to allow drop down options why someone has not come up with that idea is beyound me it would make thing alot simpler for overone that uses drupal infact it should be standard.

I am pretty new to Drupal, and I guess that so are you.

I also guess that the Lucid menu module (or some other module) could look very nice with some work put into theming. Just coming here to the forum and whining that Drupal's standards aren't in the way you'd prefer theme to doesn't really make people want to help you.

Go and look around among menu modules, and maybe you'll find something useful. If you find something that seems useful, try to understand it. If you really can't find anything that does what you are looking for, submit a post explaining what you tried and what you want to do.
(Also, see http://drupal.org/forum-posting.)

Good luck!

Did you look at all of the demo options supplied with Lucid Menus? What is it that you feel is missing? In my opinion, the demo seems to cover pretty much anything that anyone might want to do with menus.

Do you have a URL of navigation that you like and maybe somebody will show you how to achieve that?

Just saying that it's ugly and doesn't do what you want it to isn't likely to help you.

Looks nice, but they don't have a download for the theme!

I just posted a how-to on my approach to drop down menus: http://drupal.org/node/190263.

Here's a thought...why use drupal to manage the navigation? if you site is less than 10 pages then just create your own navigation using the URLs drupal provide's

If you don't plan on building a site that will grow to 20,30, or 300 pages then its probably too much of a headache to deal with all the modules and theming

My drupal menu crisis.

I needed 2 kinds of menus on my site. One menu area with categories for submitting content. Then I needed an area of users to view the content only. I went with the CCK and Views modules to do this.

I soon realized I could not create a blank (placeholder) navigation menu such as CHOOSE A SUBMISSION CATEGORY...

This drove me crazy until I started setting up blocks for each menu area I needed.

But this was really not clear anywhere in the handbooks that I could find.

This became the most difficult aspect of my first drupal setup.
