Attached is a mock up.
Basically when the results come back (for example found 10 places) then there is
One the search bar to research
Two the google map to show the points found
Three the results list
Thanks

Check out this cool movie.
It sums it up well
Remember that the drupal 5 (and maybe 4.7) now has gmapview in cck so it is even easier

I'd love to know how you made the gmap center to the find field, also how the views table results get numbered markers. :D Any pointers?

Pointer will come once the person who coded them has some free time.
Send me an email if you do not hear from me in a bit.

I think a map display and a list display can be shown on the same page in a couple of different ways, for example using a content type that has two ViewFields, and also some other ways.

However, this request was regarding showing numbered markers on a map, with the corresponding numbered location information below it, which is a cool idea. But, I think information about the mashup is out-dated.

If anyone knows how to accomplish this using the current versions, please post back. Since there seem to be more pressing problems in the issue queue, I'll mark this one as postponed.

This looks to be obsolete as well, since this stuff can be done with some attached displays and exposed filters.
