Let me first take this opportunity to thank you for all the hard work you have put into making drupalpro a reality. I'm a long time user of quickstart and I feel that drupalpro has taken many steps in the right direction.

In addition to changing the timezone on first run you might also consider keyboard layout. I'm sure many people like me who use other keyboard layouts than US would find it a very welcome addition.

I've never done it ... do you have some advice to offer? (do you know how to do it?)

I know that the following commands open the keyboard layout and timezone configuration sections in system settings:

gnome-control-center region
gnome-control-center indicator-datetime

However I'm not sure how to run them step by step.

I'm planning on taking drupalpro in a slightly different direction, using veewee, vagrant, chef, and recopies to build out images and make it easier for end users to customize setups. That said, I'm going to close this based on my hope of how this will play out -- but definitely won't fix the current version. Feel free to reopen if there's a problem once we're based on vagrant instead of chef.
