I tried phpnuke, postnuke, cpgnuke, mambo, e107 and xoops.
What I need is a feature rich Forum(eg. phpBB, Invision, SMF), Gallery(eg. Coppermine) and Blog system(eg. wordpress). All 3 must be integrated into CORE.

What are the available solutions(modules/plugins) DRUPAL has for above 3 systems?

Which version of DRUPAL(4.x) has highest available and updated add ons?

Thanks.

Drupal should be able to do basically all of those things.

To start with, use the newest possible version (4.5.2) as it contains an important security patch, and will start you at a place that will make future upgrades easier. It is also what most of the new modules will be written for, and most likely updates for older version modules will not happen.

Since you seem to know exactly what kind of site features you want, I would recommend reading through the list of various available modules to see which ones do mostly what you want. Look at the various bb modules, and image modules in particular.

The Blog system is available in the Core, as is some form of forum, however the various modules that you add on will be the key to the functionality of the site you build. Modules, by the nature of how drupal has been built, are well integrated into the core of the system, though the extent to which that occurs depends on the module mantainers. For the most part though, I have found that most modules fit seamlessly into drupal.

Forum and blogs are available as part of core, but not image module. It is a part of contributed modules, but it is improving and lots of threads have already discussed about this module merging in to core. The present image module can upload picture at a time.

Nevertheless, the image module is already used in many sites. Also have a look at flickr module by Jonas luster
