Tracker conveniently tells me that there are new posts to a thread that I've posted or commented on.

However, if the thread is long, and the new postings are to a section of the thread that is not near the bottom of the page, then it is very difficult to find where the new postings are.

Am I missing something or is this a problem with forum.module?

Look for the word "NEW" in orange on the posts that are just that. If you are referring to Drupal.org forum this is already in use. But is also able to be used on other sites if it not happening by default.

yes, it is sometimes quiet uncomfortable to use.. as i'm pretty much used to phpbb... but new to drupal forums.
