Can anyone show me where I can find this mod as it has disappeared from the module system!!

If it's not listed here then it never existed:

http://cvs.drupal.org/viewvc.py/drupal/contributions/modules/

Can't see it, so it wasn't in Drupal.Org's module system.

You could always use Google which leads to http://shellmultimedia.com/node/5

I was confused at first, too, and found this thread by searching for it; then I found it's actually contained in the User-Profile-Tutorial-Version-2.zip that you can download from here:
