Since Google has modified its search engine results page (SERP) title length recipe, from one of character length to pixel length, it seems the customary SERP-optimized title of ca. 70 characters max is inapplicable. Is it time for a different method of measurement?

Could you explain in a little more detail, what exactly you want to change?

If you check out the Google SERP Snippet Optimization Tool link I posted originally, you'll get an idea of what I'm thinking. In simple terms, I propose changing the SERP meta title length formula from one of characters to pixels to accurately reflect the Google SERP change.

Do you know how to calculate this?

I'm not sure how Google does it. But my guess on one way to calculate it would be using the imagettfbbox PHP function.
