Description
I'm starting to wonder if having a HowTo taxo tag across all Handbook pages would help beginners and seasoned vets alike find the stuff that they need based upon the need to find out how to do something. Now, I know what you're thinkng. Isn't everything in the handbooks some kind of HowTo? Installation of a basic Drupal codebase is not, nor will never be a HowTo, but stuff like HowTo create a localhost test site for linux would definitely fit the tag.
If I could search d.o for "HowTo + 'update module'", wouldn't that be cool? http://www.google.com/search?q=site:drupal.org&q=howto

I like this idea. We would need a new taxonomy vocabulary though I think, and I'm not sure what else would go in it. Seems like kind of a waste to only have one term. Any other ideas?

Snippet might be another good candidate for that vocab.
Another thing that I have been thinking is that down the road it would be nice to have things like HowTos and Snippets as different content types so that you could search within that type and they could be styled differently (like adding the use at your own risk header on all snippets pages or something.) Biggest problem I see with that is the UI for adding a child (book) page vs a child snippet, etc to keep it clear and simple for folks. So that is probably not as quick a potential solution as a new vocab would be.

I'd rather hold off a bit more before adding some more tags. This sounds good yes, but the handbooks are in for a period of transition and re-org soon.

I'm changing this to postponed, mostly cause I've always wanted to use that Status tag, but I never get to. Well now! W00t!

Bump for Sepeck. If this is a no-go, let's just close the issue.

well, don't forget about the idea for the redesign effort.
