I'm looking to gather success stories for non-profits using Drupal.
If you're running a non-profit and use Drupal, please leave a comment. I need:
1) The URL
2) Why you chose Drupal?
3) The size of your organization.

Olympic-Tour website
Hi,
I just created a website for a friend of mine (and his team), who wants to cycle from germany to china in just around 80 days. (He collects money per kilometer which he gives to a charity organistation ("Friedensdorf").
1.)
The URL:
http://www.olympia-botschafter.de
2.) I choosed drupal, because he wants to edit the website on his own and impelemnt some community-features.
Drupal runs without problems on "cheap" hostings, has a solid foundation and a good programming model.
3.) The size of my organisation is "1" :)
regards
Jochen
Nonprofit Congress
Hi, we've been using Drupal for a couple years now for the Nonprofit Congress (www.nonprofitcongress.org), an initiative of the National Council of Nonprofit Associations. We chose Drupal for a number of reasons. 1) When we put up the initial site, we were able to use Bryght (www.bryght.com) to build and launch a great site in a short time, with no technical knowledge 2) With the new version of the site, just launched last week, we were able to utilize a number of modules to make a very powerful site, complete with integrated database (CiviCRM) and Organic Groups, still with little technical expertise. Our organization is also small, with 6 staff, but only .5 FTE on IT.
Non-profit site
Hi!
I built http://www.mansfieldcvs.org about a year ago.
They chose Drupal because the main requirement was for the site content to be maintained and updated by staff with no technical skills beyond basic word-processing etc.
There are about 25 staff.

2) We chose Drupal for many reasons. Drupal is extremely flexible, expandable, modular, easy to maintain, customizable, themable, powerful, and supported by a great community. We also chose it because it is a great CMS with workflow capabilities. The webmaster, myself, can work on what's really important, while the store people can add their own products, for example. We started before CCK and views, so coming in now would be great. It's easier than ever to set up and add new content. You can also do an entire site redesign without having to touch any content--make a theme, then switch it over.
3) We are an institution of about 160.
Earlier Thread
You might want to check out this earlier thread. You won't have all your questions answered, but you will find a long list of non-profits using Drupal.

Search first, ask good questions later.
Here is our community site
Here is our community site for russian-speaking immigrants living in Slovenia - http://www.ruslo.org
The real life community has started about 4 years ago, now counting around 200-300 people.
I moved the site to Drupal about a year ago when 5.0 betas started to appear. The reason to move to Drupal was because I didn't have enough time to continue my own CMS, the site was running on before. Well, I am glad I did that :)
