Is it possible to remove the ability to create folders and hide the manage folder button?

I think this is a important, to have a very clean private messaging system. For example the messaging system from last.fm is very basic but very effective. Is there a more basic private messaging track that is less mail-system like?

I apologize for pinging the participants, I'm closing out old issues. New features will not be added to that version anymore. however, Privatemsg already implements some of these features. Please file a feature request against the latest DRUPAL-6 version if still relevant.

The privatemsg_filter module has a permissions setting which allows to configure which users can create tags. It is also possible to disable it completely.
