For the moment, only the README of the top module is displayed. But it would be nice to also display README of inner modules.

I am not sure if I understand this problem. Can you point to an example of a project with an "inner" module where this is not displayed.

A tested a few projects with sub-modules, where the sub-module had a separate README - and those showed up on my test site.

I'll leave this open for two weeks to wait for more information. If no new information surfaces, it will be closed as a "cannot reproduce" issue.
