Profile URL field help needed with views

MrMattles - August 18, 2007 - 03:24

I am currently setting up a website for a client and I have come across a small problem.

Initial I created a "members page" using CCK that would have to be filled in by the administrator. this information was used in a number of ways by the Views module to created nice tabular views.
The great thing here was the Link field in CCK allowed for titles to be given to the relevnat links such as "members as website" and it was a link.

I have since had a bit of change in direction and now I am trying to setup a profile, so that when the user registers they enter all the info, to save the adminstrator time, however calling the Profile;URL field in views shows the address of the link...but not as a link.

Any help on how to resolve this would be appreciated. Can CCK be integrated with the built in Profile module?

I'm having the same problem

I'm having the same problem with this - did you ever resolve it? I'm running version 5.6 with the latest CCK, Views and Advanced Profile. I can't get the URL field in a Views block to display as a link.

Any ideas?
thanks

link module

I assume you installed the 'link' module which adds a URL CCK field.

Yeah, I've got the Link

Yeah, I've got the Link Module (http://drupal.org/project/link) installed and no joy.

The problem comes when using a URL field within the normal Profile setup, then trying to call that URL into a View as a link, rather than as just text. I can't associate the Link Module with that profile field - any ideas how I might do that?

thanks

I still haven't been able to

I still haven't been able to crack this, despite hunting all over this site. Someone else must have come up against the same problem: URL profile field not being displayed as a link in Views.

Anyone seen a solution to this?

Well ....

You can get around this if using bio or Nodeprofile module. You should see any field similar to fields provided by Profile, but with option "with link" or "Without Link". OK?

Other than that, bio or Nodeprofile could offer other big advantages, isn't ...

Of course, with CCK, you can nice theming - CCK for Themers
