Trying to add a conditional rule and get the following:

Data selector node:author:roles: for parameter account is invalid.

User Data Selector is set to node:author:roles:

Role Data Selector is set to anonymous user

I have the same issue. Same circumstances - except it's a custom role "advisor".

Ah. Solved it. You don't specify the role (as in node:author:roles:) you just do node:author.

But the fact the system offers "roles" as an option is very misleading because it seems obvious (to the naive user) that if you're offered "roles" when you're creating a condition based on roles then selecting "roles" is the right thing to do.
