Different types of profiles need different fields

I'm working on a community page for bands and venues. During the sign-up process and in their profile, I need different fields for each one. For example:

For Bands
Band name:
Music Style:
Year Formed:
Booking Contact:

For Venues
Venue Name:
Address:
Phone Number:
Age/Drink Restrictions:

Its just an example, but basically I have 2 types of users, both etering events into the calendar, and both having a profile suited for either a band or venue.

Any existing code to allow these two profiles fields to be filtered based on user role?
