Sorry if this is posted wrong, or with inadequate information, I am new to drupal, and this is my first issue I am posting.

I have drupal 5.1 installed, Image 5.x-1.4, and Image Watermark 5.x-1.x-dev.

I have the watermark module enabled, and configured correctly as far as I can tell. I tired a couple different images for the watermark, PNG, although I am using paint shop pro to create them and I think it will only create a 24bit png?

I get no errors when I upload an image, and there are no errors present in the watchdog. It is just as if the module was turned off or not present.

I put my image watermark.png in the root directory with index.php, and put in the text box for it just watermark.png, and tried also /watermark.png.

I have looked through the other issues but haven't found a solution, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I've tested and developed the latest watermark with image 1.2. I'm using it on Berliner Strassen. Can you try if you have the same problem with image 1.2, too?

Unfortunately, I'm too busy at the moment to spend more time with this project, but I'm pretty sure that the actual version of watermark is incompatible with image module versions later than 1.2. I've already tried 1.3 and there were basic changes in the image module that caused errors.

I'm hoping that this is going to help you at least a little and that you still like drupal ;-)

that didnt get it working, I will tinker a little though, maybe now if I change those names (preview, original, etc) as in the other issue that might do it, thanks again.

please provide some info and code, if you figure out what's going on, when you find a solution for your problem. if you make a patch, please mark it as "code needs review". i don't want to miss an update and would like to review it, but i also don't want to hinder any further development...

Some troubleshooting tips: what to look for, what to try.

  • Instead of uploading a new image repeatedly during troubleshooting, you can safely click Edit on an image node, and be sure to check the "Apply watermark" checkbox, then click Submit. Look for this double-message:

    * Watermark applied to image: Watermarked
    * The Image has been updated.

  • Try this:
    Create a new Image size:
    * under admin/settings/image["Image sizes"], add the name, "Watermarked" (that's in my example above of what msg's to look for)
    * under admin/settings/image_watermark["Apply watermark to the following images"], check at least the new Watermarked category
    * edit your node as outlined in troubleshooting above.. You should get the message. Click the new "Watermarked" category under the image's sizes listing, and see your watermark.

Does that help? I suspect that watermark is getting applied _only_ to user-created "Image sizes" ("Watermarked" in my example) and never to Original, Preview, Thumbnail. Another running parallel requirement that I've yet to eliminate is that you _have_ to have image_gallery setup and at least one category selected to eliminate, but I'm not sure of that.. I am sure, though, that I'm not seeing my watermarks applied but to user-created Image Sizes. Can you verify?

Just a follow up here.. It seems you must have Image Gallery enabled, even if you don't use it. I'll post this as a separate issue..

After months of keep coming back to this module to try and get it to watermark images, alas I have not yet solved why it doesn't work.
Have now tried your solution, but still no watermark has appeared viewing the new category :-(
Have just about exhausted all checks -- where image is, file permissions, checked logs, etc, etc

If anyone has had the same problem and has solved it, please... please... please do tell the secret!

It doesn't work for me any more. All of a sudden it says its watermarking the images but nothing actually happens.

The module is no good.
