When I attempt to do anything in the Panel Content (admin/structure/pages/add/[my-page-name]/content) window, I get

An AJAX HTTP error occurred. HTTP Result Code: 200

. I set the priority on this issue to 'major' because this error prevents users from doing anything in the Panel Content window. Therefore, content can't be added, canvass, columns, row, regions can not be configured at all.

Although I encounter this Ajax error only while using Panels and Page manager, after doing some more digging, I'm inclined to believe that this is not an issue specific to Panels. So, I'm closing this issue here. Similar Ajax errors have been reported in various places on drupal.org. The reported solutions varies from disabling modules to eliminating stray characters preceding the

Whew! Finally solved this nagging Ajax HTTP error with HTTP Result Code: 200 error problem. My solution was changing the max_execution_time settings in my php.ini file. I changed this setting from max_execution_time = 30 to max_execution_time = 180.

For others who are experiencing Ajax errors, view your website error log. It will give you a more realistic clue of the source of the real problem.

Anyone having lots of AJAX issues might want to try disabling the jquery_update module, worked for me. Just spreading the info, unsure if it's related to this issue.

Had success enabling the Devel module and changing the "Error Handlers" setting to "Krumo backtrace in the message area"

I'd say this should go in your my.cnf config file on your server, unless you're on shared, then you'd need to talk to your host about your options.
