emsearcy commentedActually, these statistics *do* include hits to the cache. In short, this is every hit to drupal.org, regardless of whether its a cache hit (served by squid) or a cache miss (served by apache). The apache-only stats wouldn't be very useful for trending popularity of the site, which is why I'm not generating them.
