I noticed that all the release blocker issues are now closed - yay!

It would be great to get a stable release (even if it's a beta or RC) to head toward a final 7.x-1.0 release.

Yes I cracked on it this weekend with the intention of creating a beta release. However, since a few major features that could potentially break things were added I want to leave it in dev for at least a week to make sure there are no critical bugs before promoting to an official release.

I think that's the perfect situation for a beta release. Having something stable makes it easier to track/fix bugs and makes it more likely people will help test it out.
