using jQuery update with jQuery 1.7 and enable touchscreen support for the menus, touchscreen support does not work, the page of the menuitem clicked, is loaded immediately.

With jQuery 1.3 everything is fine.

(Using the jQuery minified version, no touchscreensupport
Using the jQuery uncompressed version, touchscreensoupport works)

Yes, jQuery 1.7 on a Drupal 6.

In the meantime I got solution running jQuery 1.4x succesfully.

I'll add this to my to-do list, but I'm quite confident the majority of Drupal 6 modules that use jQuery are created for v1.3 or v1.4 at best, therefore using v1.7 on a Drupal 6 is a big mistake! unless you've a very good reason.
