Still a lot of work to be done, but have made extensive use of the GMAP module to display hiking information. Have extensive linkage of data between pages which is generated dynamically at page load time.

Although I started using some of the built-in views tools to generate my data sets, I ended up using custom SQL to do most of it to try and minimise number of queries.

Please provide any feedback, suggestions and tips.

Forgot to mention, has been developed using Firefox, I need to go back and tweak a few things for IE. Any suggestions on what needs changing will be MOST welcome :)

Nice work done, but...

I can't access to "Photos" section without membership. IMHO, it could be better to allow guests to see the content, too.

One question: how you have achieved effects on your images (Latest Photos - magnify images)

It is cool. I just looked it up. I think it's this: http://vikjavev.no/highslide/

That sure looks like it. Pity it costs money, though... I don't make any money off my site but I'm planning on putting ads on it eventually so it probably falls under the commercial definition.

I'd be curious how hard it is to integrate with Drupal, though. Any chance of the original poster writing up a little tutorial? :)

Your site is very helpful; especially, the nodeprofile tutorial. I learned a lot from it. Thank you.

I've started putting a tutorial together for the image display already. But as all things like this, it takes a lower priority. But there will definitely be something in the near future.

It is a shame that you have to pay for the commercial use of this product, but probably fair enough as the author has put a lot of work into it. If you start earning money from your site, perhaps the first $29 can go to purchasing the license.

I have no income from my site at this stage so I have not paid the license fees.

Yes it is highslide, and also some info from a list apart, and jquery. Took a while to get everything working together with my style sheets etc. but well worth the effort.

I still have a lot of work to do on the site, including the photos section. It is definitely a work in progress, but thought people might like to see what I had done so far.

I wanted my site to not look like a traditional drupal or CMS backed site, which is why I went for the single column look.

As the posters elude to below, I am using the following for the images:

What function are you overriding to add in highslide to the teasers? Also, would you mind sharing your code?

I came up with an awesome solution. It is dynamic and picks a image randomly out of a certain image gallery. www.biotech.vt.edu/dev

It picture under the mission statement, The Fralin Center, located in....

Note: It is currently only working with everything but IE, I have to add some of the highslide css to my IE style sheet.

Doesn't work in Opera, either. Just sits there and says "loading".

It should be fixed now, there was an error with ?q= in the URL, I had to do a str_replace to replace it.

Works now. Kind of jumpy but that may just be my slow computer.

I checked this example of Highslide out before the holidays, not it's gone. Do you have a new link?
