The latest Drupal 7 development version might work; it uses more language features in the reCAPTCHA API.

I tried the dev version but don't see any difference, it doesn't show up in the Translate interface. I also can't find this expression anywhere in the module code, do you know where it is?

It comes from the reCAPTCHA server. This issue is probably a duplicate of #1991446: Localized interface no longer showing.
