Before I get too far into a new project, I wonder if I'm going to be able to do this: I need to create numerous custom Profile fields, but some of them must be only editable by administrators/managers -- the user cannot edit them. But they are not "secret" fields, and should be viewable to most user roles.

The existing options for the Profile module don't seem to accommodate this and I haven't come across a contrib. module that would. Have I missed anything?

I'm using Drupal 6 and would love to know if this is possible. I've been trying to figure it out for a few days now and have had no luck.
