Seen a fe similar issues with extlink putting more icons where its not supposed to .

Im using extlinks to force aggregator links to open in a new page but after the summary text new window icons are being added when the summary isn't a link??

It looks like you may have some malformed HTML on the page, either that or several links that are nested inside each other or something similar. In your screenshot for example, it looks like "Wall Street Journal" and the date are both links, but there aren't icons after them. Could you link to your site or copy/paste the HTML source of the page for an aggregator item?

This could possibly use the fix in issue #1902220: Add CSS selector inclusion/exclusion.
