Event appears in view despite filter option of "now"

I'm using the filter "Event:End Date" "Greater than" "now" yet events with dates long past still appear in the view...

I can confirm that this is happening with Event:End Date or Event:Start Date.
Setting "now" in the options for the filter has no effect. All events are shown regardless of start or end date.
I am using event-5.x-2.x-dev.
