page--front.tpl.php uses different css on frontpage than on other pages...

After I created the page--front.tpl.php, I see a different css on the frontpage than from the rest of the site's pages. The footer css is a gray background but it's supposed to be white like on the other pages and the header doesn't have a border-bottom which it should have. Is there any solution. I had to create the page--front.tpl.php after implementing a custom jquery plugin.
