Error while running cron: pathauto_get_placeholders()

Automatic cron executions fail:
warning cron 23 Aug 2007 - 09:00 Cron run exceeded the time limit and was aborted. Anonymous

While running cron manually I get this error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function pathauto_get_placeholders() in /home/www/modules/custom/pathauto/pathauto.module on line 416

I have checked the code on pathauto module and there is no such function, but neither a call to it.
I have no idea where is this comming from.
