Issue Summary
if i'm behind a aziendal proxy
I've the following error
warning: fopen(http://finance.yahoo.com/d/quotes.csv?e=.csv&f=l1c1&symbol=ENI.MI): failed to open stream: Bad file descriptor in c:\program files\easyphp1-7\www\mydrupal\modules\stock\stock.module on line 375
If you can analyse maybe there is some hint from the new patch for common.inc e system module
(do a search: "PROXY" in drupal.org inside an interesting discussion about RSS)

I read the other posts, and understand the problem.

However, there are several issues here:
1. The patch to put proxy support in base has not been accepted yet. Nor have a concensus been reached about it. There is reluctance to add yet another option for it. It was suggested that a new conf.php parameter be added, but a patch for that has not been submitted yet.
2. If this is fixed in base, then stock.module can pick up those settings and use them.
So, it is best to wait till there is a general solution for this in base, then we apply it to stock.module.
I will leave this issue open until we have a fix in base then.
Oh, and I do not have a proxy on my web servers to test this on, so any changes I make will have to tested by someone who does have one (e.g. Roberto).
