marker popup sizes - again

Whenever one of the lines that should go into the marker popup is too long to fit without breaking, the google javascript mis-calculates the required height for the popup window and the content doesn't fit.
I've tried to fix this by adjusting the height of the window in the click-handler, but so far I haven't managed to get hold of the map-object there, which makes it quite hard to get to the infowindow and adjust its size ... any hints?
