The MTImport format is a lingua franca between blogging systems. There are other Drupal modules that allow the import of MTImport formatted data, but to my knowledge, none of them work with Import/Export API.

Enabling MTImport to work with Import/Export API would be a good endorsement for this API, and a valuable and useful addition to the array of import/export features offered by Drupal.

Although the API is already working and is somewhat stable (i.e. it's not particularly volatile), it is still in the alpha stage, and is for developer consumption only.
