I only want to have story posts in the sitemap. Which query can i modify so that it only pulls these Nodes?

you can change that on the XML Sitemap settings page.

  1. go to admin >> site config >> XML sitemap.
  2. expand Priority settings.
  3. find the line that says "You can enter -1 in any of the following fields to prevent nodes of that type from appearing in the site map."
  4. enter -1 for every node type below that except Story.
  5. ...
  6. profit!
