Formatted text in teaser

May be you should try to use htmLawed module. It has pretty good settings page and a lot of configuration options. For fine tuning you have to read the manual.
P.S.: I've found useful option for triming all html tags from teaser without touching CCK fields. To do this you have to disable filter for all types of content except "Other" on filter settings page.
