Hello everyone,

This is a topic that I think deserves more attention: Include a link on the private message TO the original node, so that the recipient of the message knows to which node the message is related.

Could you please explain how to do it? If custom coding is required, please state the code and explain in which file it has to be added since I'm a Drupal newbie.

Your help would be greatly appreciated, if you can provide a solution and have something like an Amazon wishlist, let me know it!

Best regards, Nico

You can add a token to the "subject field", so message receiver will know the link the message is referring to.
An interesting feature could be to restrict the use of sending messages to only the ones related to a node. Like on freelancers sites where buyers and sellers can only communicate when there is a node (rfq) posted.

I would very much like to have this ability too. I tried adding a link field via admin/config/messaging/privatemsg/fields but the field form would not allow me to use use the [current-page:title] or [current-page:url] tokens in the fields, coming back with "The value provided for Link to content is not a valid URL."
