Never faced a problem so far.
Just remmeber to change your temp filesystem path.
Before the move just disable any caching you have in place and enable it when site is up and running on the linux host.

You shouldn't have any
You shouldn't have any issues. As anurag said, just change the paths, and you'll be good to go.
The only time you'd have an issue is if you developed in something like asp, but even then there are ways to run that on Linux. You would have to shop for a provider offering that service though.

LAMP and WAMP
As long as you developed on Windows using WAMP you should be fine moving it up to LAMP server.
Move files, setup database, import database, change your settings.php and you should be good to go.

I have heard that Linux
I have heard that Linux server hosting is very accommodative of all types of open source as well as Windows server platform, which is a paid service. The Linux environment is not meant for copyright control as is the case with the Windows server hosting platform. I recently decided to switch from Windows server hosting to Linux and encountered no problem in the same.
The basic setting up involves database import, changing the settings of the settings.php file and this would happen with minimum of fuss. The Linux hosting professionals from my web host helped a lot in this.
