guguss commentedActually, we'll implement that as a feature that can be enabled or not during the installation ! Since all stores won't need the whole search API and facets configuration...
If it's enabled, the user will still have to manually index his product fields and categories.

bojanz commented#1735146: Unify search code fixed search so that it appears, works, and uses the same code as demo store (no duplication).
What we could do is make it optional (which would allow it to have a checkbox in the feature list for "no demo store").
In order for this to happen, the index creation needs to move from the product features to the search module,
where we'd have code to automatically assemble indexes (and include all attribute fields from product, categories from product display, etc).
This would actually allow the search module to become Kickstart independent.

jsacksick commentedMarking this as won't fix, if we make the faceted search optional this would imply to not enable commerce_search_api, commerce_kickstart_search and probably commerce_kickstart_taxonomy which would lead to a totally empty installation, that's not what we want... If you don't like the /products view then you can disable it.
