i use blog only for posting very short messages.
its more a reminder to make something with it.

so i want to replace anywhere visible
Blog with Idea

what is the best way to do that ?

maybe clone the english language file and replace
there the words ?

to change drupal terminology you employ the path.module and create a site specific language to handle changes.

handbooks -> core modules -> locale module, will have the necessary documentation to do this.
