It would be very nice to set userpoints for commenting according to node types, or even per forum sections.
For example, I have solid political, economical and other debates on my site, participants of which legitimately collect their points. However at the same time, I have forum games on the same site and their participants easily gathering points just by typing one word or sentence. I would like to differ these two type of commenting to - serious (solid, significant) and insignificant - and would like to give points to the first ones, but the second ones to exclude.
I am not sure, if it would be possible to differentiate commenting userpoints as per forum sections, but I guess excluding points for commenting per node type would be easier to implement.
What do you think?

yngens commentedSeems nobody interested in this feature. But only think - we could give points users for commenting in forums and limit giving points for commenting any other types of nodes! I strongly believe this should be must option. Please support my idea.

jredding commentedMoving to the correct component and offering a reminder that creating a module to create this functionality is quite easy.
Please consider taking the time to create a feature that you would use and others would.
I think its a great idea!! Go for it!

merilainen commentedI support this idea and need this implemented on my site.
There is an API for 6.x-version of the module, but how to use that for comments on specific node type?

kbahey commentedThere is a module that does that now.
It is called userpoints_commentpertype and is included in the http://drupal.org/project/userpoints_contrib project.
