I am going to port util module to 6.x platform.

motivations:
1) helps me learn d6 system
2) practice proper patching procedure
3) early availability of util module in the d6

done, d6 branch has been started.

this branch uses new approach to util extensions.

all extensions must be modules in their own right, but have to use correct menu path to show up under the main util menu path in the menu tree.
