Trying to update Commerce Kickstart and getting an error

When I try to update from commerce kickstart 7.x-1.8 to 7.x-1.10 the error is: commerce_kickstart-7.x-1.10-core.tar.gz does not contain any .info files.

Is this an error from my end or I something missing? I searched and cannot find a way to fix it. My site is still local as I'm still developing it.

Updating Commerce Kickstart

Hi Brenda,

How are you updating Commerce Kickstart? When I did my update, I just replaced the folders except for the sites folder since this folder contains your contributed modules, themes, files, etc. If it doesn't work try stopping the server and restarting it. I find that sometimes that helps.

Let me know if that works.
