I've just noted another interesting twist that when you add links from the External Links (ie with the button above and in the wrong place), clicking submit or preview just adds another field to the External Links

The problem appears to be when the weight of the field is changed from the content types field administration. If it doesn't have a weight of 0 it acts strangely

Thanks, I've set the weights on both the 'more' button and on the token help (1 and 2 respectively). This should keep them in the right spots.
