Hi,

I'm having problems creating subproducts and attributes. I've tried searching the site for similar issues or documentation, but I haven't really found anything that helps I'm afraid.

I am using CCK custom content types and have the following e-commerce related modules enabled on my site: cart, anonymous purchasing, ec live subproducts, mail subsystem, payment api, product api, store, address, paypal, tangible product, tangible subproduct, file product, generic product, ec recurring, region, ec views, flexicharge, invoice and tax api.

After finding issue #155867 and reading comment #2, I followed brmassa's instructions and created the variations "paper type", "paper size" and "colour". These now appear on admin/store/attributes. I then tried creating attributes for each, both by "Create content >> subproduct attribute" and on the admin/store/attributes using the "create attribute" link beside the variation in question. Each time the attribute node was created successfully but they don't appear on the admin/store/attributes page. I presume they are meant to?

I then tried creating a CCK "photo" content type. Under the product section, I set it to a "tangible subproduct" (not sure if this is correct). The node was successfully created, but under the "subproduct attributes" tab, I just get the message "There is no variations or attributes.". Thinking it might just be a CCK integration issue, I tried "Create content >> Product >> tangible subproduct" but the same thing happens. I've tried using "shippable product" too.

Basically what I want is to have 2 CCK content types - photo and pen (already done). I then want to have "paper type" and "paper size" variations for the "photo" content type, and "colour" for the "pen" content type. Then, for example, when adding a photo node, I can enable e.g. matt & glossy as the paper types, and A4 and A3 as the paper sizes. The "colour" variation wouldn't apply to this node type. When a customer goes to buy a photo from the site, they should then be able to select between the different types of paper types & sizes and set the quantity for each.

I've also tried using the "apparel" product but that just confused me further, and I've read that "ec live subproducts" is what I should be using going forward. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong and can't find any documentation that clearly states what to do step-by-step. I would really appreciate some assistance with this.

I think I've included all the necessary info above, but if you need any more details please let me know!

Thanks,
Stella

I found out that activating SUBPRODUCTS for some reason "kills" the possibility to choose categories/taxonomy even on node types that are not marked as products.
I think this is a bug
thanks for fixing this!
for a quick repair i am willing to tip in 10$ via paypal

Stella,

as i told you before, you should not use the Subprodcuts module (from eC3). Its old, confusing and buggy. try ec live subproducts instead. in fact, i stopped from fixing ec ls since i started to work on eC module it self. eC4 will have a updated version od ec ls.

Sebastian,

im supposing you are using eC4 dev version right? im about to fix it.

regards,

massa
