Yes me too would like to hide the view options and arguments section on node input forms.

Can i do this by theming each corresponding node type's tpl as recommended here: http://drupal.org/node/98253 ?

Is there an easier/cleaner or more global way of handling this?

Actually I found that the formfilter module does this and more quite nicely.

When i use the form filter, the default view is not passed to the new node. This is a real problem for my new site....
