vocabulary in breadcrumb

Using taxonomy, I have the followong categories:

projects (vocabulary)
- progress
- project A
- project K
- finished
- project B
- project D

if a user goes to e.g. project B, he will see in the breadrumb Home > Projects > Finished > Project B

If he clicks on Projects he sees an empty page.
I'm using this just as a vocabulary, not as a post.

How do you normally use this?
