i installed this module, and created a test user to register. but the email i got is still the default drupal email which does not contain a verification link.

where do i edit the verification email?

no need to file a support request and start a forum post. Try to use one of the other unless a topic or issues goes unanswered. See http://drupal.org/node/173395 for follow up.
