Issue present in 2.10, also on commons.acquia.com:

On the anonymous users homepage, the search box defaults to searching within one of the groups from the Group Showcase block. This seems to me as unwanted behaviour, as it should default to "Entire site".

I had the same behaviour, even for registered users on the homepage.
